Meet the Team - Alice Wang

Name: Alice Wang

Languages Spoken: English, Mandarin

Title: Senior Migration Agent 0852751

My name is Wei (Alice) Wang, and I came to Australia from Mainland China on November 11th, 2001, on a student visa. I hold a Master of International Business degree at The University of Wollongong, just south of Sydney. And I was granted a skilled permanent residency visa following the completion of my studies in Australia.

I understand the motivation and have experienced the hardship first-hand through the whole immigration process. Also, I understand how important it was to put my family’s future into the hands of a trustworthy professional when it came to getting the correct Visa and good advice.

I became interested in Australia’s migration policies and procedures when my family, relatives, and friends asked me about my experiences gaining a visa. Because of their interest in coming to Australia, they also asked for any advice I could offer them. I decided to undertake the Australian Migration Law Course at the Australian National University and became a registered migration agent in 2008.

Since then, I have been an active member of the Migration Institute of Australia and have worked in Immigration at the top level.

What does your role entail at Migration Downunder?

I am one of the Senior Registered Migration Agents, having commenced with Migration Downunder in 2015. With over 15 years of experience in all areas of Australian migration law, I have a particular interest in General Skilled Migration and Sponsored Business visas.

I am also a Justice of the Peace, which allows me to review and certify legal documents when a court or statutory body requires them as evidence. It is an honour to serve our many corporate and personal migration clients. And I help many of our Chinese clients fully understand and feel comfortable with Australian migration procedures in Mandarin.

What’s your favourite thing about working at MDU?

The team at Migration Downunder really cares and is very dedicated to its clients. This attitude lets me use every avenue to get you your visa and employ my experience to ensure the migration application is ready for lodgement. I only proceed with an application if I am happy it will succeed, and the client is always my first priority. It was an easy decision to work at Migration Downunder as they practice the same philosophy as I have and are very empathetic towards the difficulties that many immigrants and their families face.

How do you spend your time outside of work?

Now that my children are university students, my husband and I enjoy date nights together, enjoying our favourite cuisine, which often involves seafood—although I do make great Chinese dumplings!

I have a dog named Chino. He is a corgi—the same breed as the Queen used to have!

I love a long walk along one of the many beaches here in Sydney. Otherwise, you may find me on a Sunday afternoon playing Mahjong with my mother and aunts.

Book your consultation with Alice.

Before any immigration advice can be provided, we must hold an initial consultation which will attract a fee commencing from $385.
