Alvin Dutt | Subclass 482 Temporary Skill Shortage Visa

“Their expertise and clear guidance were invaluable, and their prompt responses and thorough communication were instrumental in addressing any concerns I had along the way.”

Tell us more about your background.

I am Alvin, originally from Fiji. In my early 30’s, I decided to pursue the Temporary Skill Shortage 482 visa to advance my career in software development. The opportunity to work in Australia, a hub for tech innovation, was a significant motivator. Additionally, I sought a better life for my family when deciding to move here with my wife.

What were the challenges you faced during your move to Australia?

As expected, moving to a new country without any family in Australia presented its usual challenges. We were initially surprised by the difficulty in finding accommodation, but fortunately, my employer provided assistance until we secured a more permanent place. Additionally, my partner faced challenges in finding her first job despite being qualified with a Master’s degree.

How was your experience with Migration Downunder?

I have used Migration Downunder twice, for both my initial 482 visa and its renewal, and both times they have been exceptional. The team, especially Alice, was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive throughout the entire process. They were very professional, prompt, and well organised, which made the application process very smooth and less stressful. Their expertise and clear guidance were invaluable, and their prompt responses and thorough communication were instrumental in addressing any concerns I had along the way.

What are your long-term plans in Australia now that you’ve gained your visa?

With my visa secured, I plan to further my career as a Solution Architect and contribute to the tech community here in Australia. Additionally, I look forward to exploring more of this beautiful country, integrating into the local culture, and possibly even looking into property investments in the future and settling down here.
