Arunima’s Story – Subclass 482 Visa
Tell us about your background
My name is Arunima. I am originally from India. I moved to Sydney, Australia in 2018 to do my masters in design in University of New South Wales. I loved the experience of settling into in a new city, exploring the beautiful beaches, nature and culture. Sydney has been exceptional in more ways than one and I feel very happy to be here. I also started working part time as a product designer along with my course in university. Even though it was chaotic at times to balance uni and work, the company that I worked for was very supportive and encouraged me to work in ways that were most effective for me I really love and value the work culture and opportunities in Sydney.
What made you want to live in Australia long term? How was your experience with your employer?
There are a lot of opportunities in digital product design and a thriving ecosystem for digital products here. This definitely made it easy for me to consider living permanently in Australia apart from all the other great things this place has to offer.
How was your experience with Migration Downunder?
I worked with Migration down under during the process of my 482 visa sponsorship with my current company. The agents at Migration down under were very organised and helped me ease through the process. I am very grateful that I got to work with Migration Downunder because the visa application process usually can be quite stressful but they really made it feel easy. What does this visa mean to you in terms of a future in Australia?
The 482 visa makes it easier for me to consider my options for permanent residency and gives me the flexibility with respect to time to evaluate my options.
