Nominating a position

Nomination is the process of identifying a position to be filled by an overseas skilled worker in an approved business.

For your nomination to be approved:

  • you must be an approved sponsor
  • you must nominate your proposed employee in an eligible occupation – that is an occupation listed for a TSS visa on the list of eligible skilled occupations or specified in your labour agreement. This will determine the stream of the visa that your employee will be applying for and the length of their visa stay period
  • you must have advertised the position for a minimum 28 days in the four months preceding the lodgement of the nomination on two different platforms that has a national reaching
  • there must be no adverse information known about your business or any person associated with your business
  • the position associated with the nominated occupation must genuine and full-time.
Note: There is a general requirement that the position associated with the nominated occupation is full-time. There is discretion to approve part-time positions, however, if supported by a strong business case.

Before any immigration advice can be provided, we must hold an initial consultation which will attract a fee commencing from $385.
