We are so grateful to have had the expertise of Migration Downunder."

Where have you Migrated From?

My wife Lucy and I met in Zimbabwe and subsequently married at historic Victoria Falls.  Thereafter, we travelled to ‘our’ home in Los Angeles and Lucy entered the U.S.A.as a green card holder.   We are both US citizens.

What Was Your Motivation to Come to Australia?

During our American residency, we attempted to unite Lucy’s sons (lawyers in South Africa) and bring them to California, but after 10 years of dealing with the American Immigration Service, Lucy and I determined our efforts were an exercise in futility.   Both sons applied and were granted work visas to Australia.  Presently, they are on a pathway to Australian citizenship.  Nothing in our lives ever happens as we perceive, and the latent wish of the family being united was elusive.  We made a decision to attempt residency in Australia.

What Type of Visa Have You Been Granted?

We have been granted 870 Provisional Parent visas that allows us to remain living in Australia, close to Lucy’s two sons and their families. Possessing a 5- year visa with option for a further 5 years has allowed Lucy and I to travel without being encumbered with time restriction.  Our 870 visa allows us the freedom enjoyed by millions of Australians.

We live in Kangaroo Point, which is close to the city of Brisbane in the sunny state of Queensland.
