There’s been a major change in English Language score requirements for competent and superior English — starting today, the 7th of August
Three newly approved English language tests have been added to the list of those accepted by the Department of Home Affairs:
CELPIP General (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program)
Michigan English Test (MET) – (not accepted for Superior English)
The test results will be considered valid for up to 3 years from the date of testing, aligning with existing test validity standards.
To ensure consistency across all testing formats, score thresholds for the following tests have been revised for PTE Academic, OET, and TEOFL iBT.
It’s important to note that the C1 Advanced test is no longer accepted for Vocational English requirements.
