Mario & Davinia’s Journey to Permanent Residence
Mario and Davinia’s story is one of commitment, patience, and ultimately, building a life together in Australia.
Their journey began while living on opposite sides of the world—Mario in London (with roots in Colombia) and Davinia in Sydney. Determined to close the distance, they commenced the process of applying for a Subclass 300 Prospective Marriage visa, working closely with Julie and the team over an extended period.
In mid-2025, that effort paid off with the grant of Mario’s Subclass 300 visa. This milestone allowed him to make the move to Sydney, where he quickly settled into life in Australia and secured a role in finance by the end of the year. Shortly after arriving, Mario and Davinia celebrated their marriage against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour; marking the beginning of their next chapter together.
By June 2026, the couple reached another major milestone: Mario was granted permanent residence.
Relocating to Australia has brought incredible opportunities, but it has not been without its challenges. Moving across the world meant leaving behind established networks in both London and Colombia. Building a new social circle in Sydney has taken time, and at times, has been one of the more difficult aspects of the transition.
Despite this, receiving permanent residence has been a deeply meaningful moment for them both. After the long journey from their initial 300 visa application, the grant felt like a true turning point.
“The day of the grant, we felt like we had finally made it. While I’m not a citizen yet, I felt more Australian that day. Having this ‘to-do’ out of our lives is a real blessing—it allows us to focus on building our future here.”
Throughout the process, Mario and Davinia felt supported every step of the way.
“The experience has been absolutely fantastic. From day one, the team was on top of everything—clear in their explanations and always available to answer our questions. This was a huge process for us, as our future together depended on Mario’s relocation. Having that level of support made all the difference.”
“This was a huge process for us as the future of our relationship and family was highly dependent on Mario’s successful relocation to Australia.”
Now settled in Sydney as an Australian permanent resident, Mario along with Davinia are focused on their family and becoming more embedded in the community, and welcoming family and friends from overseas to share in their new life. With the uncertainty behind them, they are also excited about exploring more of the region and embracing all that Australia has to offer.
