From Working Holiday Visa to Permanent Residence

Migration Downunder was easy to get in contact with, my agent – Alice Wang - always made herself available for me and responded to any of my many questions and concerns throughout the visa process

I am from the United States and arrived on a Work & Holiday Visa (462) on September 16th 2023, meaning I’ve been in Australia for a year and a half!

I applied for a  State Nominated Subclass 190 visa through the state of Victoria, based on my skill set.  I was invited in August 2024, receiving my PR a few months later in December 2024.  It was really quick and a great early Christmas present!

Where in Australia you’re currently living and any challenges you’ve faced adapting to life here?

I live in Melbourne! The biggest challenge for me has been learning to drive on the opposite side of the road!

 What is your Occupation?

I work full time as a Social Worker in Melbourne, it’s amazing to be able to help the community that has welcomed me 🙂

What’s the best thing you like about Australia?

The work/life balance, great food scene, beautiful landscapes and so much more. Every day I am so grateful to live in Australia and can’t believe I’ve made my dreams come true.

Before any immigration advice can be provided, we must hold an initial consultation which will attract a fee commencing from $385.
