I’d like to invite you into my world of immigration and share a bit about who I am and the journey that led me to become a Registered Migration Agent for Australia and a Licensed Immigration Advisor for New Zealand.

I am incredibly proud to have been awarded a Fellowship with the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) in 2013. This fellowship is granted exclusively to professionals with over ten years of experience in the immigration field as either a Lawyer or Registered Migration Agent, who uphold the highest ethical standards and are recognized by their peers for their expertise in the Migration Act.

I had the honour of serving as the National President of the MIA and Chair of the MIA Board from October 2021 to October 2023.  In addition I held the position of NSW/ACT State President and MIA National Board Member from 2018 through to 2023.

Born in Adelaide and raised in rural New South Wales, I developed a passion for geography, cultures, and the customs of people from around the world. My interest in Japan was especially strong, leading me to study Japanese both in school and in Japan. Early on, I knew I wanted to work in a field where I could combine these passions.

I began my career in the corporate world with a Japanese inbound travel company, where I established the Human Resources and Recruitment Division. It was here that I first encountered Temporary Business Visas, handling immigration matters for Japanese expatriates—an experience that sparked my enduring interest in immigration.

My passion for learning about people’s lives, backgrounds, and careers drives me to deliver outstanding service with genuine engagement and attention—qualities I like to think reflect a bit of good old-fashioned country hospitality you won’t find in large corporations.

We work with everyone, from large companies to individual clients, and there’s no greater reward for me than seeing the joy on the faces of those we help to achieve their dreams. I am deeply invested in what I do, knowing that in immigration, there are no second chances. This motivates me to go the extra mile, putting myself in my clients’ shoes to provide the level of service I would expect if I were in their place.

Our business clients rely on us not only for our expertise and passion but for legal knowledge and strong client management. Honesty and confidentiality are pillars of our work at Migration Downunder, where I see us as an extension of our clients’ People & Culture teams.

Outside of work, I cherish time with my partner, my 5 adult children, and our 13-year-old Border Collie. I enjoy long walks—particularly charity walks of up to 60 kilometers along Australia’s beautiful, pristine coastline!

You can find me in both our Sydney and Melbourne offices, as I’ve recently made the move south to the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria.

Book your consultation with Julie.
