Manzur

From 457 Visa Holder to a Permanent Resident

I am Manzur, born in Bangladesh, educated, lived and worked in India and Japan before moving to Australia and becoming a proud citizen of Australia.

After ten years of recruitment experience in India, Bangladesh, Japan and Australia; I have developed a deep understanding of cultural difference and multinational industrial climate.

Reasons why you decided to come to Australia
There were major influences for my decision. Firstly, My wife and I wanted to educate our daughter in an English speaking environment with exposure to diversified culture and, secondly I wanted to have experience at a regional level role. After considering for few months, we finally decided to move to Sydney in October 2011 and we are so glad that we took that step.

Your first steps and experiences in building a new life

We didn’t know anyone who can guide us on things like, where to live, good school or even driving license procedure. But soon we developed friends and everyone have been extremely supportive and helped us to settle down.

We do miss the Japanese customer services at times but I guess we are getting used to the Australian way. Also Tokyo never sleeps whereas after 5 pm most of the suburb in Sydney become quite. On the contrary, I was working almost 14-16 hours a day and mostly 6 days a week in Japan and now I have more time for my family. My family appreciates the work-life balance that Australia offered to us.

How you found the entire visa process

In one word, “amazing”. Migration Downunder helped us to obtain our PR in March 2014. From the initial meeting with Julie till the much awaited phone call sharing the result, we were thoroughly impressed with the team’s professionalism, feedback and support. Every time I had any query I receive a prompt response with necessary explanation. They explained what needs to be done, how long it may take and it was very smooth for us. Towards the end of the process, I was getting bit worried about the result but with their friendly support we could stay positive. I am extremely satisfied with the entire process not because of just the outcome but because of their truly supportive team. I strongly recommend Migration Downunder and wish them all success.

Your next steps and future plans

We would like to travel all around Australia to enjoy the diversified nature across the continent; and finally we would like to initiate a charity to treat the cancer patients and orphans in the developing countries.

Before any immigration advice can be provided, we must hold an initial consultation which will attract a fee commencing from $385.
