Marianne’s Story – 482 Temporary Skill Shortage
Tell us a little about your background
I was born and grew up in the West of Ireland. After studying and working as a Speech Pathologist in the UK, I decided to take my career overseas to Australia. I moved to Sydney with my partner in January 2020, only a few weeks before the borders closed for almost 2 years. Sydney is a fast paced lifestyle and it can take some time for an easy going Irish person to adapt. I love that everyone, anywhere in the world, appreciates an Irish accent.
“My partner and I would highly recommended the services from Migration Downunder. The team guided us through our visa options, providing realistic time-frames and step-by-step support. All of our questions were answered promptly, with a continuous flow of communication – which is rare when working through the immigration procedures in Australia. Without the help of Migration Downunder, our journey to our visa being granted would have been complicated and stressful on our own. Our application was expertly compiled for us, no detail was missed and this ultimately resulted in our visa being granted in just one week! We are absolutely thrilled to have chosen such a professional company and we would recommend Migration Downunder to everyone”
What are some things you like to do on St Patrick’s Day?
I always speak to family and friends to feel especially connected on St Patrick’s Day. I will wear green and share the tradition with the children I work with in Sydney.
How has your life changed here in Australia after your visa was granted?
Our sponsorship was granted much quicker than we had anticipated, which allowed us to finally feel settled in Australia. We are relieved our goal to work in Australia was achieved especially during the challenges of the pandemic.
