Marios and Carmen’s Story – Subclass 820 Visa
Tell us a little about yourself
I’m Marios and I’m from Athens Greece, and Carmen is from Sydney Australia.
We used to work together in the U.A.E., as flight attendants. We met in 2018 while operating a flight together.
What made you want to move to Australia permanently?
After we got married in 2020 we started preparing for our next step, which was to start a family. We decided to make Australia our home because we could see ourselves growing our lives together here, surrounded by the beautiful Australian nature, relaxed culture and because Carmen’s family lives there.
That’s when we started looking into my Australian visa application process.
How was your experience with Migration Downunder?
After a lot of research, we found Migration Downunder. Julie Williams dealt with our application. Julie was very helpful from the first moment. She gave a clear breakdown of the process during the first consultation, and she followed up regularly on every step of the process. When we were preparing to fly to Sydney (NSW was in strict lockdown and non Australian citizens were not allowed into the country), Julie guided us through the correct processes, so I could enter Australia.
Their first consultation was in March 2021, and my visa application was lodged on the 1st of October 2021. It was very easy to collect all the information needed (because of Julie’s outline and guidance). Julie was very thorough and revised everything before the application was lodged. 6 months and 11 days later (March 11th 2022), I received my permanent residency (Visa 801).
We are so happy we decided to go with Migration Downunder, especially during the pandemic when everything was at a stand still, and travelling let alone navigating immigrating to another country was so much more difficult. Julie was supportive and guided us every step of the way, we could not have wished for a more positive experience and outcome!
How has your life changed after obtaining permanent residency?
We have settled into our new lives in Australia. We celebrated Christmas, Chinese New Year, Easter and Greek Orthodox Easter with Carmen’s family! We are looking forward to my parents visiting Australia for the first time next year!
