My name is Nathan, and I am an experienced Registered Migration Agent, working as the Case Manager with Migration Downunder since the beginning of 2022.
I was born and raised in Sichuan, China, and spent a decade in Beijing completing my bachelor’s degree – from the best university in China – in computer science and technology and working as a Software Test Engineer for one of the “big four” banks in China.
Deeply attracted by the way of life Down Under, I moved to Australia in 2012 and obtained my permanent residency as a skilled migrant.
I found my passion in the migration industry because I genuinely enjoy helping people, conquering fresh territories of life, and overcoming challenges. Being a migrant myself, I completely understand that the visa application process can be stressful and overwhelming. It is the empathy for the visa applicant and constant self-reminder of putting myself in the client’s shoes that make me better at my job as a migration agent.
I have experience in a wide range of Australian visas, including skilled, partner, parent, employer sponsored, business, student, temporary graduate, resident return, working holiday, bridging, visitor and citizenship applications.
What does your role entail at Migration Downunder?
Based in our company’s Melbourne office, my position is the Case Manager who manages our migration support team working closely with our team of Registered Migration Agents across all visa classes.
As a Registered Migration Agent myself, I love to delve into the regulations researching and keeping up-to-date with the latest legislative changes.
What’s your favourite thing about working at MDU?
Being part of a professional and friendly team. We are a team in every sense of the word making certain we work together to achieve the best outcome for our clients.
I enjoy working with clients from all around the globe from different backgrounds and cultures. We are all from different backgrounds ourself, so it’s great to be working with a firm who is passionate about diversity and inclusion.
How do you spend your time outside of work?
I am an avid traveller, and I have visited more than 30 countries. Experiencing different culture and meeting new people excites me. I have managed to squeeze in some whirlwind overseas adventures during my breaks from work.
I also love coding as a pastime because it keeps my mind sharp and the satisfaction of solving problems helps me stay in a positive status for life and work.
