New Announcement for 485 Visa Holders & Applicants as of 1 July 2022

Removal of Occupation Nomination & Skills Assessments

For those applying for a Temporary Graduate Work Stream visa lodged between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023 will not be required to nominate an occupation from the skilled occupation list nor will you have to apply for a skills assessment.

The Graduate Work Stream visa is usually granted for a stay of up to 18 months; however, for a temporary time it will be increased to 24 months.

Replacement Stream

A replacement stream for Temporary Graduate 485 visa holders who were impacted by the Australian travel restrictions is now available.

You need to currently hold or have held a Subclass 485 visa that expired on or after 1 February 2020 and were outside Australia at any time between 1 February 2020 and 15 December 2021.

It allows for previous 485 visa holders to regain full validity of their initial 485 visa.

Templary Graduate Visa 485 New Eligibility

The Australian government have changed the requirements for a Temporary Graduate Subclass 485 visa for those who have been affected by Covid-19 travel restrictions.

  1. Online study undertaken outside Australia will count towards the Australian Study Requirement for existing and new student visa holders
  2. Only study undertaken outside Australia, whilst holding a student visa, will count towards the Australian Study Requirements
  3. Graduates can apply for a Subclass 485 visa whilst outside Australia if meeting the above criteria
