It has recently been announced that a pathway to permanent residence for skilled migrant TSS 482 workers working in an occupation on the Regional Occupation List is also included.
From 1 July 2022 changes commenced to improve access to permanent residence for skilled migrant workers who chose to stay in Australia during the pandemic. This was for Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) 482 visa holders who have been in Australia for at least one year between 1 February 2020 and 14 December 2021, working in an occupation on the Short-term Occupation List, through the Temporary Residence Transition stream of the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Subclass 186 visa.
In addition to the short-term stream TSS visa holders, the Government is now advising that the pathway is also available to TSS 482 visa holders with an occupation on the Regional Occupation List.
This pathway is currently available for two years from 1 July 2022.
