South Australia’s Migration Streams

  • South Australian Graduates (onshore)
  • Outer Regional Skilled Employment (onshore)
  • Skilled Employment in South Australia (onshore)

Application Process

Step 1  – SkillSelect EOI (offshore & onshore) – chose South Australia as preferred state

Step 2 – Registration of Interest (ROI) at migration.sa.gov.au (onshore only)

Step 3 – if successful , invited to apply for South Australia state nomination (14 days to submit application)

Step 4 – State nomination application assessed

Step 5 – if successful, nominated by SA and receive DHA invitation to apply for the visa

Base Requirements – All Streams

  • Occupation available for that stream on SA’s skilled occupation list
  • Positive Skills Assessment
  • Competent English – unless there is a higher requirement for licensing or registration/listed on SA’s occupation list
  • Under 45 years of age
  • At least 65 points (including state nomination points)
  • Post qualification work experience required for that stream

South Australian (SA) graduates

  • Completed a qualification in SA
  • Meets minimum qualification level required for their occupation on SA’s Skilled occupation list
  • 75% of qualification completed in SA
  • SA work experience (post SA course completion)
  • Currently living and working for the last 6 months in SA (minimum 30 hours per week) in their nominated occupation of job related to their nominated occupation (the same skill level, within the same 2-digit ANZSCO).

Outer Regional Skilled Employment

  • Currently living and working for the last 9 months in outer regional SA (minimum 30 hours per week) in their nominated occupation or a job related to their nominated occupation (the same skill level, within the same 2-digit ANZSCO).
  • Postcodes available on the outer reginal requirements page at migration.sa.gov.au
  • Skilled employment in South Australia
  • Currently living and working for the last 12 months in SA (minimum 30 hours per week) in their nominated occupation or a job related to their nominated occupation (the same skill level, within the same 2-digit ANZSCO).

Offshore Stream

Work Experience

  • At least 3 years of skilled work experience in the last 5 years (minimum 20 hours per week)
  • The skilled work experience must be in their nominated or closely related occupation
  • Construction trades – 1 year of skilled work experience in the last 3 years

SkillSelect EOI – SA consider based on:

  • English language ability
  • Years and field of skilled employment
  • EOI points
