Where have you Migrated From?
I first came out on a working holiday visa in 2016 from Bournemouth in the UK.
What Was Your Motivation to Come to Australia?
The weather in Australia was a major draw for me, along with the sense of freedom, the laid-back lifestyle, and the stunning scenery. After arriving in the Northern Beaches, I quickly fell in love with the area—it’s such a beautiful place to live and work that I couldn’t imagine leaving. Although I initially planned to stay for just a year or two, as time went on, I realised I wanted to make Australia my permanent home. I cherish the friendships I’ve made and truly enjoy where I work, which solidified my decision to stay.
What Type of Visa Have You Been Granted?
After what felt like an eternity, I was thrilled to finally be granted Australian permanent residency on 9 August 2024. The exciting news came while I was on holiday, and it was made possible through the sponsorship of my employer.
As a Senior Hair Stylist and Colourist, I have been part of the same hair salon for the past seven and a half years. My employer’s support has been instrumental in my journey, sponsoring my pathway to permanent residency. Over the years, I have held a 457 visa and later a 482 visa, culminating in the grant of a Subclass 186 visa – all through employer sponsorship.
How Was Your Experience in Gaining the 186 Visa?
My experience in gaining the 186 Visa with Migration Downunder was exceptional. From the start, their team provided clear guidance, explaining the process step by step and ensuring I understood all the requirements. They were always available to answer my questions and address any concerns, which made what could have been a stressful experience feel manageable and straightforward. Their expertise and attention to detail gave me confidence throughout the application process, and I truly appreciated their support and encouragement. Thanks to their hard work, I was able to achieve my goal of obtaining permanent residency.
What are Your Future Plans?
Looking ahead, my goal is to keep advancing in my career while saving to purchase a home. I also hope to explore more of Australia and its incredible landscapes. Gaining permanent residency has been a huge relief, providing the stability and confidence I need to make concrete plans for the future.
