Skilled Migration Program Update for Offshore Candidates – South Australia

South Australia has always been a great choice for migrants to live and work, owing to its great work-life balance coupled with its vibrant art and cultural festivals as well as a thriving wine and gourmet food industry.

South Australia is also known for having an attractive migration program which is open to a variety of occupations.  The South Australian Skilled & Business Migration Program claimed they will be increasing their nominations of offshore skilled migrants in 2022-2023. Over 1,100 migrants have already been nominated with several hundred on their way! South Australia will be nominating from over 470 different occupations this financial year.

If you’re an offshore candidate wishing to migrate to South Australia, here are the steps you are required to follow:

  1. Submit an Express of Interest (EOI) using SkillSelect and make sure you select South Australia as your preferred state
  2. Ensure your nominated occupation is from the skilled occupation list for South Australia
  3. Upon review, the South Australian government may invite you to apply for one of the following:
  4. Subclass 190 visa
  5. Subclass 491 visa

One thing to keep in mind is to ensure all your documents are kept up to date including your English language test report and skills assessment.  You must also meet all the requirements for state nomination and have the relevant skills and experience.

If you think you’re eligible for this, now would be the perfect time to apply!
