Tasmania Migration Program 2024-2025

Migration is critical to Tasmania’s future.

Tasmania’s allocation of 2,860 places is over double the places that were provided in the previous program year.  Whilst Tasmania has a really solid allocation, the program is still very competitive with 1,200 applications already received since 1 August (current – 2 September 2024).

The allocation reflects the needs of Tasmania, but there is still not enough and consequently the Tasmanian government are encouraging the use of employer sponsored visas.

There are many opportunities for young skilled migrants considering Tasmania to live.

Why is skilled migration important to Tasmania?

  • Population aging, and losing young people
  • Creating shortages across industries

Huge Opportunities:

  • Attracting people with existing skills to take roles with Tasmanian business
  • Fast, clear pathways to permanent residency
